2024 Planning Fees

As luxury travel advisors, Life Is Short Adventures receives commission from travel suppliers (hotels, tour operators, cruise lines, etc.) after a trip has been completed. In addition to this commission, we charge up front, non-refundable research and planning fees for most services before starting a new trip request. These fees include personalized travel advice based on expert professional knowledge, numerous resource partners, and firsthand experience. We invest time into researching, planning, and employing our worldwide travel network for each trip planned. 

All fees listed below reflect starting prices and can increase with complex itineraries, multiple destinations, or for larger groups/events. All planning fees listed include ticketing of flights. We will provide you with our specific planning fee quote for approval before getting started on your trip.

HOTEL Booking ONLY 

Life Is Short Adventures waives our planning fee for hotel-only bookings when the destination and hotel are known. By booking your hotel stays through us instead of on your own, you receive VIP perks at over 4,000 preferred partner hotels around the world and we receive commission. It’s a win-win for everyone!  

All Inclusive and Package Trips

All-inclusive and package trips incude researching and quoting locations and resorts, booking flights, resorts and roundtrip airport transfers. Our planning fees for these types of trips starts at $250 for two travelers and includes flight ticketing and tracking and monitoring flight schedule changes.

CRUISE Bookings

Cruise Only: Life Is Short Adventures waives our planning fee for cruise-only bookings when the destination, cruise line and sailing date are known. By booking cruises through us instead of on your own, you are likely to receive additional amenities depending on cruise line and sail date. If you are unsure of which cruise line, itinerary and sail date you’d like to book, a research and planning fee will apply starting at $200.

Cruise plus pre- or post-stays: For pre and post cruise itineraries, fees starting at $200 will apply depending on duration, number of people and other details. There is no fee for hotel-only pre or post cruise bookings.

CUSTOM ITINERARIES

Life Is Short Adventures charges a per-trip planning fee for custom itineraries starting at $300, which will be quoted after the initial trip details have been gathered. Fees vary based on the number of travelers, destination, length of stay, and complexity of the trip and includes consultation, research, planning, working with our network of travel suppliers around the world, booking the trip and building out the itinerary in our GPS-enabled app. This fee also includes flight ticketing and tracking and monitoring flight schedule changes. Before trip departure, we re-confirm all aspects of the trip including flights, accommodations, transfers, rental cars, guided tours and activities. Recommendations for self-guided attractions and restaurants are provided after the main elements of the itinerary have been booked. 

We provide concierge services (making spa, dining and other reservations) for special occasions or on request, subject to a fee of $50 per hour with a 1-hour minimum. 

GROUP TRIPS

There is a minimum fee of $100 per room for trips involving five hotel rooms or more depending on group size, whether flights and airport transfers are included and other details.

FLIGHT TICKETING

Commercial Flights: Life Is Short Adventures does not book commercial flights when other trip elements are not involved. Flight ticketing fees are included in all planning fees listed above.

Private Aviation: A minimum fee of $300 will apply to research, quote and book private aviation including coordination of transfers and lounge access.

MEMBERSHIP

Our Membership provides retainer services for clients who are frequent travelers and includes unlimited trip planning and advice or guidance even on trips that we are not planning. Membership to Life is Short Adventures is ideal for clients who travel frequently for both business and leisure. Annual membership is $2,500 which is billed quarterly.

RUSH requests

Rush fees of $250 per trip will apply in addition to our standard planning fees for any custom trip request within eight weeks of departure. Rush fees may apply to other types of trip requests depending on departure date and other details.

Cancellation/Change Policy and Fees

Life Is Short Adventures reserves the right to charge the following fees for changes or cancellations in addition to any individual supplier fees:

  • Custom Itineraries: starting at $150 to be charged to the credit card on file should the trip be cancelled for any reason after deposit has been paid.

  • Cruises: $50 cancellation fee per stateroom

  • Group Trips: $50 per room

  • Private Aviation: Starting at $200 for any itinerary changes or cancellations.

  • Last-minute itinerary changes: $100 for any itinerary changes made within seven days of departure.
